COVID-19 Response

GBC’s leaders are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation. We will seek to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as State and County health officials as they address this developing situation.

The latest information about the State of California’s response to COVID-19 can be found at covid19.ca.gov.

Stay Connected

Staying connected through various communication channels while we’re scattered as a congregation is extremely important.

  • Official church communication will take place by email. Please make sure to read GBC Family emails in order to stay up to date.
  • If you have prayer requests, you can send them to the GBC Family email list or contact one of the elders if you prefer the request remain private.
  • Stay in close contact with the members of your home group or other small group. Use email and phone. Set up text threads if you haven’t already. Make use of video conferencing tools such as, Skype, Zoom, FaceTime, etc.
  • Check in via phone/text with older members and those with unique needs.

Care & Help

  • The elders are eager to provide individual pastoral care during this time. If you are in need of care, please contact any of the elders. They will be happy to talk and pray with you over the phone or via video conferencing.
  • The elders and deacons recognize that some of you are being, or will be, affected financially and in other practical ways by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please let us know if the current situation is causing you to lose income (e.g. reduced hours, lay offs, etc.) or has resulted in other practical needs (e.g. help shopping for groceries). We want to help you.
  • Every member and regular attender will receive a personal phone call to check in with them.
