Biography:
Matt is originally from Colorado. He was converted during his time at Brown University (graduated 1992). Nuria is from the Barcelona area. She was converted at a young age.
They met in Barcelona in December of 1995 and were married in August 1997. They lived for three years in Escondido while Matt attended Westminster Seminary and interned at GBC and Nuria taught Spanish at the Classical Academy. They returned to Spain in 2002. They have five children: Dan, Jon, Tània, Àlex, and Marc.

Matt and Nuria serve in the Evangelical Church of Vilassar de Mar in Nuria’s hometown, almost 30 minutes north of Barcelona. Matt is an elder with responsibility of oversight of teaching ministries and pastoral care for the young married, college and career aged members. Nuria is active in the Sunday school program and in music.

Matt also began teaching at the Evangelical Seminary in Barcelona in the fall of 2007. He serves as the Dean of Students at the seminary and teaches a number of classes including Pauline Theology and Hermeneutics. Additionally, he is currently the director of Grace Bible College, in which most of the teaching is by correspondence. He is the professor of New Testament and Systematic Theology. Some students live nearby, enabling them to have regular lectures.

“On the side,” Matt is chipping away at a PhD in New Testament Studies through the University of Salamanca. His project has to do with the theology of covenant in Paul’s writings.
