Suffering For Being Done With Sin

Text: 1 Peter 4:1-6

Have you ever been maligned for not going along with sinful practices that seem acceptable to everyone else?  It can be disheartening and discouraging when our relationships are affected by our commitment to Christ.  Peter understood this temptation and in 1 Peter 4:1-6, we’ll see how looking to the work of Jesus motivates us to put away sinful practices and encourages us to persevere despite the difficulties that following him will bring.

In preparation for listening to this message, it would be helpful to read 1 Peter 3:18-4:6, and also read of the suffering of those who have gone before us in Hebrews 11.
