Lives Fixed on Hope

Text: 1 Peter 1:13-21

The 2016 Olympics are underway!  It is amazing to see what human beings are capable of doing in athletic competition.  These athletes have been focused on participating in this event for well over four years – many of them for nearly their entire lives.  As these competitions kicked off I found myself asking, “What have I been focused on during the last 4 years?”  In this text, we’re going to see that Peter calls Christians to set their hope fully on the coming grace.  This will affect our mindset, our actions, and our affections.

In preparation for listening to this sermon please read 1 Peter chapter 1.  Psalm 37 also expresses many of these ideas through Old Testament language and it would be helpful to read that as well.
