It is hard for any of us to comprehend how hard the life of a leper would have been in first century Galilee.  Their bodies became physically deformed and they were social outcasts. It was a living death.  This week’s passage tells the story of one leper who had the boldness to plead with Jesus to heal him.    Jesus shows his compassion by touching and healing this man.

The situation of the leper is a picture of our spiritual condition.  We are unclean and unfit for God’s presence.  Jesus, in His great compassion, cleanses all those who come to Him in humble faith.
